Chickens
At Triple Creek RV Park, we keep a small flock of free-range chickens that add both charm and purpose to our grounds. These hardworking birds provide excellent natural pest control, happily devouring insects such as slugs, snails, ticks, flies, and grubs, which helps reduce the need for chemical pesticides. They also support natural weed control by eating weed seeds and young foliage, keeping unwanted growth in check in an eco-friendly way.
Another major benefit of our free-range chickens is their positive impact on soil health. As they forage, chickens instinctively scratch and dig, turning over the soil and mixing in organic matter. This natural activity aerates the ground, spreads mulch and compost, reduces soil compaction, and adds oxygen—resulting in richer, healthier soil.
Beyond fresh eggs and family-friendly fun, raising chickens fosters a strong sense of pride and sustainability. They serve as a natural weed eater, organic fertilizer, insect control system, and lawn aerator all in one, contributing to the overall health, beauty, and self-sufficiency of the Triple Creek environment. Please feel free to feed the friendly chickens!
